Silk and Porcelain 

Divert Svenkerud and Martine Richter – joint exhibition of ceramics and textiles. This is a collaboration between mother and daughter, who work in different genres. Divert Svenkerud’s work is represented by sober-looking porcelain utensils. Martine Richter is a textile artist who works on the interface between sculpture, costume-making and clothes design.

27 senses. The exhibition is based on the internationally renowned German artist Kurt Schwitters’ life and artistic works during the time he lived on the island of Hjertøya outside Molde. 27 senses is the first contemporary art exhibition to cover that period of his life. A number of modern artists have studied and taken inspiration from Schwitters’ work from the period.

The title of the 2009 Western Norway Art Exhibition, which opened at KUBE, is Love. The artistic director of the exhibition was fine artist and writer Tommy Olsson. Almost 30 artists were selected to take part in the exhibition, five of whom were specially invited. The media on display ranged from painting and sculpture to photos and videos. Gunnar Haukebø – a memorial for the painter of light. This exhibition was part of the centennial celebrations of the artist’s birth. It was a retrospective, which comprised a total of 48 works. The exhibition was organised into sections based on the artist’s many different subjects, and visitors were able to wander through his world of motifs as they went from one room to another.

Arne B. Langleite – Interventions was an exhibition of landscape photographs taken in Norway and Scotland. The photos include an action carried out by the artists which is documented in the photo itself.
